Regional Highlights

Every Mayor in the Region has the responsibility of sitting on Regional Council.

Point of interest:

In Pelham we have a budget of $42 million dollars to run the town whereas the Region of Niagara has a budget of $1.5 billion dollars.

In the last four years as a part of Regional Council we have achieved some major accomplishments.

Here are some highlights:

Since 2023, over 40 doctors have been recruited to Niagara.

We have developed a broadband expansion plan that calls for $209 million to be spent to increase internet service into all areas.

After some 20 years of debate we have amalgamated transit for St Catharines, Welland, Niagara Falls and Pelham to form one Region-wide transit system.

We spent $175 million on Long Term Care Facilities creating another 416 much needed beds.

Expanded Go Train service into the Niagara Region

Committed to building environmentally sustainable infrastructures.

We received over $9 million in grants to build upgrade water and waste water facilities.
