Welcome

Proven and principled leadership

Under my leadership Town staff has come together with customer service being top priority. From Tice Road operations to the running of Town Hall and the M.C.C. and every area of Town business our aim is for all residents to enjoy the benefit of excellent customer service.

Substantially improved financial stability

The Town now has over $13 million in reserves, a huge improvement over the negative balances that existed prior to my term as mayor.

Created an Audit and Finance Committee

There are two residents, both being chartered accountants, sit on the audit committee along with three councillors who work with the Town’s Finance department to give advice and direction on the reporting of the Town’s finances and guidance dealing with the reserve balance and to a lesser extent, capital expenditures.

Effective Bylaws regulating Cannabis

Because of co vid these bylaws have yet to be tried in court, however with the level of expertise on the Cannabis Control Committee and the help of outside planners and lawyers Town Staff are confident in their success. They have been successfully upheld at the Ontario Land Tribunal.

Updated and enhanced parks and outdoor sport facilities

To compliment the sporting events held in the Meridian Community Centre Outdoor areas for sports and parks have been upgraded. The tennis courts at Centennial Park in Fenwick saw upgrades along with the addition of a splash pad and pickle ball courts. A splash pad was also added to the Marlene Stewart Striet Park in Fonthill. The Steve Bauer Trail has been resurfaced to make the trail accessible to all.
