Community Involvement
I highly support the use of resident advisory committees to help inform Town policy. These committees are great ways for residents to get involved with council to help move the Town forward on all fronts.
Financial Stability
As your Mayor I have lead the Town back to financial stability, with a budgetary surplus for each of the eight years I have been in office. Although we have made great strides in repairing our financial situation, continued diligence will be required to control spending and further maintain Town reserves at a healthy level.
Economic Viability
Coming from an agricultural background I have always felt that the agricultural community should be more involved with Town staff. As supply chains continue to evolve worldwide whether due to war or climate change, we must ensure that our municipality does all that is possible to keep this sector of the economy viable.
Public Safety and Updated Facilities
Throughout the Region and Pelham specifically we have many wonderful cycling routes to enjoy. I would like to continue with plans to establish a safe walking/biking route between Fonthill and Fenwick.
With traffic density increasing, now is the time to initiate an updated parking study.
Council and I were happy to see construction begin on the new Fire Hall #1, which saw the old structure entirely demolished. Completion date of the new facility is mid 2027.
Other work recently completed or now underway includes splash-pads in Fenwick and Fonthill, pickleball courts, the acquisition of Klager Park for increased public space, the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Pelham Pool, solar panels at the MCC, EV charging stations at the MCC and Town Hall, and through the Lincoln Pelham Public Library the renovation of its Fonthill Branch.
Looking Forward. Moving Ahead.
